Fenerbahce have made a formal offer to sign Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to Turkish journalist Elis Buse Arac.
The Ukraine international has become a fringe player for the Gunners, and he is poised to depart during the transfer window.
Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu recently reported that talks are underway between Fenerbahce and Arsenal, and the Gunners have requested £13 million for Zinchenko.
Arac has now added that an official offer has been made for the former Manchester City man.
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho wants to use Zinchenko from the number six position.
Zinchenko closing in on Arsenal exit
The 28-year-old was a regular starter at left-back during his first two campaigns with the London giants, but fell out of favour during the 2024/25 season.
The emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori’s arrival have dropped him down the pecking order for the left-back role. Jurrien Timber has also started in the position.
Hence, it makes sense for the Gunners to part ways with Zinchenko. Arsenal spent an initial £28 million to sign him from Man City, but are unlikely to recoup similar funds.
Zinchenko has been a fringe player for the last 12 months. With his contract expiring next summer, £13m represents a fairly decent value for his potential transfer.
His wages are on the higher side at £150,000 per week, but Fenerbahce are one of those clubs, that can afford to match the package with the low taxes in Turkey.
Fenerbahce sporting director Devin Ozek held a meeting with Arsenal in London yesterday. A transfer could be sorted soon, provided Zinchenko gives the green light.
