BREAKING NEWS: Among all the signings that Arteta have make, He’s the only player that fit in my style of play and I’m not happy He signed for Arsenal”, Arne slot named the ONE Arsenal signing that really caught His attention

Liverpool take on Arsenal in the biggest game of the season so far.

The two clubs finished first and second in the Premier League last campaign, and many believe that the title race this term will be between them again.

Liverpool have beaten Bournemouth and Newcastle United in their first two games, while Arsenal have picked up wins against Manchester United and Leeds.

On Sunday, one side, if not both, will lose their 100 per cent record, and that could have an impact on the title race, even though we’re less than a month into the new season

Arne Slot says Arsenal star Martin Zubimendi would’ve been a ‘good fit’ for Liverpool
Martin Zubimendi was one of the biggest names in last summer’s transfer window.

Liverpool made the Spaniard their top target, and all signs pointed towards the midfielder moving to Anfield a little over 12 months ago.

However, Zubimendi rejected Liverpool at the time, and he agreed to join Arsenal earlier in this summer’s transfer window.

Now, for the first time in his career, the Spain international will face the club and manager he brutally turned down last year.

Ahead of the game, Arne Slot was asked about Zubimendi, and the Liverpool boss explained why he felt Zubimendi would be perfect for his system.

He said, as per The Independent: “What we liked about him was how good he is on the ball, and how much game insight he has.

“We thought, and it was true, that we would have the ball a lot in every single game, and then to have someone in front of your defence that is very comfortable on the ball would have been a good fit for us.

“Especially if he’s also defensively strong enough for the league, which he’s showing now and which we also expected. But we found all of these things definitely also in Ryan [Gravenberch].”

Martin Zubimendi could help end Arsenal’s terrible record vs Liverpool at Anfield
Arsenal haven’t beaten Liverpool at Anfield since 2012 – 13 years ago!

The Gunners have suffered some painful defeats there over the years, and although they are unbeaten against the Reds for over two years now, a win at Anfield still eludes them.

Mikel Arteta would love nothing more than to end that streak on Saturday, and Zubimendi could have a say in that if he starts in the middle of the park.

The Spaniard has the ability to control and dictate games in high-pressure situations, which will be key against Liverpool at Anfield.

It will be interesting to see how he will fare, but if Zubimendi has a good game at Anfield, we’re sure many Liverpool fans will begin to wonder what could’ve been.
