BREAKING NEWS: Although we lost but to be honest I haven’t such player of His quality before,He really gave us tough time Today”, Nottingham Forest captain Gibbs white named the ONE Arsenal player that shocked Him with His performance Today
Gibbs white was full of praise for two goal Martin Zubimendi, and his front three of Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, and Noni Madueke after his side deservedly beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 this afternoon.
The former Real Sociedad man opened the scoring with a blistering volley, before making the game 100% safe with a second half header to make it 3-0. And the three other summer signings were impactful too, with Eze providing an assist for Gyokeres to double the lead early in the second half.
Speaking to TNT Sports afterwards, the Arsenal boss was asked about his San Sebastian compatriot, and was delighted with his performance, saying, “Unbelievable.
“Two very difficult goals in terms of execution. But yeah, I think he’s come in the team, he’s come to the club and you feel a real presence, a real authority in everything that he does on that pitch as well.
“And if he can, on top of that, contribute in the scoreline with goals, what else can we ask?”
And it was a new-look forward line that caused Forest all kinds of problems, made more impressive by the fact it was the first time they’d started a game together.
“I think they were very good, the three of them, with their own qualities and complementing each other really well,” said Arteta.
“Noni, I think, was outstanding again, he looks like a real threat. Victor, very intelligent, he could have scored two or three.
“Again, today Ebz giving you something that’s a different kind of flow and different connections and very unpredictable as well.”
The only downside of the day was a recurrence of Martin Odegaard’s shoulder injury which puts in doubt his availability for Tuesday’s Champions League clash in Bilbao.
“I think he’s the same shoulder that he had last time,” said Arteta. “He wasn’t comfortable to continue. So, yeah, that’s a shame because he played with the national team, he was feeling good and suddenly something happened again.
“He’s going to be doing everything from now on to be ready for Tuesday. I guarantee you that, but I don’t know [if he’ll make it].”
