‘They would be the three’: Micah Richards names the three Tottenham players who would start for Arsenal
There’s an ongoing debate between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal fans as to which team has the stronger squad.
Spurs have finished above their north London rivals in the past six seasons, but the tide might be about to turn again.
Speaking on The Monday Night Club, Micah Richards was discussing the two squads.
Both squads have been significantly improved in the last twelve months.
Antonio Conte has put his stamp on the Spurs squad, with several recruits from Italy making a big difference.
Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski have all made significant contributions since joining.
Mikel Arteta has taken a different approach at Arsenal, focusing on bringing in young talent that can improve further.
Arteta is building his team around the likes of William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli and it’s already paying off.
Arsenal sit top of the Premier League, and are currently fending off Manchester City in the title race.
Richards said he would prefer Arsenal squad right now, but named the Tottenham players he thinks would get into Arsenal’s team.
It’s a difficult comparison to make given how different the systems are that both teams play.
However, Richards put his neck on the line and said he thinks the Gunners have a stronger starting line-up.

Speaking on The Monday Night Club, Richards said: “Player for player? I’d rather Arsenal’s.
“I think they have better players. Kane goes into any team, Son goes into that and then you question mark Kulusevski – he’s been brilliant.
“They would be the three arguments, apart from that I’d have all Arsenal players based on the players that they are.”
Harry Kane is one of the Premier League best players, and has been for a number of years.
He’s even been backed to be a contender to win the Ballon d’Or if he can help Spurs win that elusive trophy.
Despite Gabriel Jesus’ brilliant start to his Arsenal career, it would be very hard to look past Kane.
He’s not hit those same heights this season, but offers more of an end product than Martin Odegaard, even if they play slightly different roles.
The importance of Dejan Kulusevski to Spurs was shown by just how much they struggled without him.
The Swede picked up an injury on international duty, and Tottenham haven’t been the same team since.
So much so, that Conte has demanded Spurs buy ‘quality’ cover for Kulusevski in case he gets injured again.
The debate on which Tottenham players would get into the Arsenal team, or vice versa, is sure to rage on for some time.
