Manchester United want to be in the conversation for Levante’s La Liga breakout star Karl Etta Eyong.
The Cameroonian striker is a man on the rise. Last season, he netted 19 goals for Villarreal’s youth side.
He has carried that blistering form into the current campaign, having made the switch from Villarreal to Levante.
At the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, Eyong already has eight goal contributions in eight appearances, five goals and three assists.
His performances have not gone unnoticed. United, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are among the clubs to have registered interest in a potential move next year.
Now, Spanish outlet Sport have dropped an eye-opening piece on Eyong’s future, with all signs pointing towards a big move on the horizon.
Transfer fee
First, they reveal what it will take to get the deal over the line:
“The Granota club is aware that they won’t be able to keep him and hope that a Premier League club will end up paying the €30 million buyout clause, although the peculiarities of his transfer contract make a sale practically certain if a €15 million offer arrives.”
Clear preference
Despite the potential bargain, Premier League clubs like United enter the race at a disadvantage:
“[Eyong] wants to stay in Spain and his priority would be Barça if the Blaugrana club ultimately makes a bid for him,” reveals Sport.
“Barring any surprises, Etta Eyong prioritises staying in Spain and his preference would be to play for Barça.”
Still, INEOS believe they can pull this off.
In fact, they are now deploying a clever strategy to win the race.

“One of the teams that have reportedly initiated contact to try to get ahead in the bidding process is Manchester United,” adds Sport, in a telling sign of how determined the Red Devils are to land Eyong.
For some, having just signed 22-year-old Benjamin Sesko, it may seem odd to pursue another young striker.
But United could soon find themselves needing one.
Sesko’s deputy, Joshua Zirkzee, is pushing to leave in search of more game time. And while Ruben Amorim would prefer to keep the Dutchman, the club may see the logic in letting him go and replacing him with a reliable goalscorer like Eyong.
Eyong could offer United’s number 30 the competition he needs to tap into his potential. The La Liga hitman might restore balance to United’s attack.
But only if United can beat Barcelona to his signature.
