‘He’s my boy’: Arsenal now reportedly want to sign ‘unbelievable’ player who Bukayo Saka is great friends with
Arsenal now reportedly want to sign AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham – a player who Bukayo Saka is great friends with.
Abraham left Chelsea last summer and enjoyed a brilliant first season in Italy, scoring 27 goals in all competitions for the Giallorossi.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal remain interested in signing the ‘unbelievable’ 25-year-old, with Abraham keen on a return to England in the future.
The Gunners have already bolstered their options up-front after the arrival of Gabriel Jesus over the summer. But they are lacking quality depth in the position, despite Eddie Nketiah impressing towards the end of last season.
And Saka previously told ITV Sport that he’s really close friends with Abraham, after the forward had scored for England back in October last year.
Abraham great friends with Saka
“I’m really happy for Tammy,” Saka said.
“He’s my boy. I’m just really happy he got his goal because he’s been working really hard, he’s been in really good form out in Italy so I’m really happy for him.
“It is football and different challenges will come up and I feel he’s dealt with this one (moving to Roma) well so far, I just wish him the best and I’m happy he got his goal.” as transcribed by the Independent.
Abraham’s form has dipped as he’s only managed three goals in 15 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s men in Serie A this season.
The Gunners were linked with a move for the former Chelsea man last summer, with the Athletic reporting that he was keen to make the switch to the Emirates.
Up to now, his time at Roma has been fairly successful but he has just missed out on going to the World Cup with England.
Arsenal will be on the lookout for quality attacking options as they aim to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Abraham might be struggling at the moment in terms of scoring goals but he would certainly provide brilliant cover for Jesus.
