BREAKING: PEP Guardiola says Man United new signing is……see more

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Lewis Hall are shrinking by the day, especially with Newcastle United starting contract talks.

The Red Devils have seemingly completed their midfield revamp, as they’re about to finalise Carlos Baleba’s transfer from Brighton. The Cameroonian will join fellow new signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, in addition to MUFC academy product Kobbie Mainoo.

Therefore, INEOS will allocate the remaining days before the transfer deadline to find themselves a new left-back.

Newcastle slam the door on Man Utd’s Lewis Hall approach
Since the start of the summer, Man Utd have pinpointed Lewis Hall as their ultimate target for the left-back role.

At the age of 21, the Slough native is still considered a youngster, but has already garnered important experience at the top level and cemented himself as a regular starter at Newcastle.

However, the Magpies have made it abundantly clear that Hall isn’t for sale this summer, especially after collecting £260 million from selling Antony Gordon to Barcelona, Sandro Tonali to Spurs, and Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal.

In his latest appearance on The United Stand, British football journalist Ben Jacobs claimed Man Utd’s chances of signing the Newcastle player are somewhere between 0% and 10%, while suggesting that his price tag has soared to £75 million now that we’ve reached the final days of the summer market.

To make matters even more complicated for MUFC, football journalist Sam Cohen has revealed that Newcastle have opened contract renewal talks with the Chelsea academy product, offering him improved terms and a leadership role.

The source also confirms that Man Utd have been told that the young left-back is not for sale this summer.

What’s next for Man Utd after missing out on Hall
Unfortunately for Man Utd, they will have to find an alternative solution for the left-back role in the coming days, as they cannot solely rely on Luke Shaw in what will be an action-packed campaign.

While some sources still insist that Myles Lewis-Skelly is a genuine target for INEOS, it’s very hard to envision Arsenal selling their youth product to one of their main rivals, especially after locking down a prominent role in Mikel Arteta’s plans.

At this stage, RB Leipzig’s David Raum (28) and Racing Santander’s Jorge Salinas (19) appear to be the most plausible options, especially with both having affordable release clauses in their contracts.

In the meantime, we can expect United to keep Harry Amass at Carrington until they secure a replacement. The 19-year-old has been tipped to leave in search of a starting role, but the club cannot afford to offload him just yet.
