INJURY PRONE: £67m player actually has an injury now, after claims Arsenal are trying to sign him – journalist

Arsenal and Tottenham target is carrying an injury which must be taken into account by any January suitor.

That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, speaking to Give Me Sport, who says that Chelsea are actually pushing hardest for the Serbia international.

Arsenal tried to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina last January but he chose to move to Juventus, but Gabriel Jesus’ injury has sparked rumours they will go back in for him next month.

Spurs apparently also want a new forward as they have injuries in that area of the pitch too and have been linked with a swoop.

Jacobs on Vlahovic

But Jacobs said: “It’s actually Chelsea, from a Premier League point of view, making the inquiries at this point, and we know that they need a striker as well.

“But I think everybody chasing Vlahovic needs to understand, is January possible, first and foremost, and then if it isn’t, what do they need to do to persuade him to move to the Premier League in January?

“And what can clubs learn from the Arsenal situation? And also, what is his injury situation? Because right now, if you get him in January, he’s got a groin problem that is still under investigation.

“But Chelsea are looking a bit more seriously at him and obviously a number of other strikers because of the Armando Broja situation.”

£67 million man Vlahovic was a big investment from Juventus and that is why Jacobs says clubs need to be really sure they would even sell him next month.

It feels like Arsenal will not spend big on someone like him – especially after he snubbed them earlier this year – just tor replace Jesus for three months.

And any player Tottenham sign in attack has to be versatile really, because Harry Kane will always start every game through the middle if fit.
