Paul Merson has written in The Daily Star that even Wolverhampton Wanderers would not sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal star does not rate Nketiah highly, and does not think that the £100,000-a-week striker (LondonWorld) is good enough to replace Gabriel Jesus in the team.
Jesus is on the sidelines at the moment.
The former Manchester City striker suffered an injury while on international duty with Brazil at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Nketiah could now be deployed as the number 9.
Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Nketiah is not good enough even for Wolves, who are in danger of getting relegated from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the season.

Merson wrote: “Without being horrible, what Premier League team does Eddie Nketiah get in?
“Wolves are bottom for instance, they’re desperate for a goal and they wouldn’t go and get him.
“For me, it’s really worrying. This is no disrespect to Nketiah or the other players but Jesus gels everything together. He is Arsenal’s very own Roberto Firmino.”

In our opinion, Paul Merson is being harsh on Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
Yes, the 23-year-old is not among the elite strikers, but he is still very young and is at Arsenal for a reason.
If Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta did not see much in him, then he would not have kept him in his squad.
We have to be patient with the English youngster and allow him time to grow and develop.
