Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly preparing to bring Gabriel Martinelli back into a more prominent role in the first team as the Gunners look to strengthen their attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.
The Brazilian winger has been an important member of Arsenal’s squad, but questions have emerged about his involvement and position in Arteta’s plans. However, the Spanish manager is believed to remain confident in Martinelli’s abilities and could be ready to give him another opportunity to demonstrate his quality.
Martinelli has developed into one of Arsenal’s most exciting attacking players since arriving from Brazilian club Ituano in 2019. His pace, direct running, work rate and ability to score important goals have made him a popular figure among supporters.
The 25-year-old possesses qualities that can cause serious problems for opposition defenders. His acceleration allows him to attack spaces behind defensive lines, while his dribbling ability makes him dangerous in one-on-one situations.
Arteta understands the importance of having different attacking options, particularly when Arsenal are competing in multiple competitions.
Arteta Wants More From His Attack
One of the biggest challenges facing Arsenal is maintaining consistency in the attacking department. Although the club possesses several talented forwards, Arteta will want every player to contribute regularly.
Martinelli’s return to a more important role could provide Arsenal with additional attacking energy.
The Brazilian is particularly effective when Arsenal play quickly and use their wide players to stretch opposition defences. His ability to make runs behind defenders creates opportunities for teammates in central attacking positions.
Arteta could also benefit from Martinelli’s defensive contribution. The winger regularly tracks back, helps his full-back and participates in the team’s pressing structure.
These qualities make him valuable in Arteta’s tactical system.
Competition for Arsenal’s Attacking Positions
Martinelli faces strong competition for a starting position at Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka remains one of the club’s most important attacking players, while Leandro Trossard and other attacking options provide Arteta with additional flexibility.
However, competition could motivate Martinelli to improve his performances and fight harder for regular opportunities.
The Brazilian will understand that he must demonstrate consistency if he wants to become one of the first names on the team sheet.
His ability to play on the left wing gives Arsenal an important attacking option, especially against opponents who defend with a deep defensive line.
Martinelli Could Become Important Again
Arsenal supporters will be hoping that Martinelli receives more opportunities because of the qualities he brings to the squad.
His speed and attacking confidence can change the direction of difficult matches. He is also capable of producing individual moments that can decide important fixtures.
Arteta has previously demonstrated his willingness to trust Martinelli, and the manager could once again rely on the Brazilian as Arsenal pursue their ambitions.
The winger will also want to repay that confidence by delivering goals, assists and consistent performances.
Arsenal Preparing for the Challenges Ahead
With important matches approaching, Arsenal need their attacking players to remain fit, confident and ready to contribute.
Martinelli’s involvement could give Arteta another solution when the team needs fresh attacking energy.
The manager will have to manage his squad carefully, ensuring that every player receives opportunities while maintaining competition for starting positions.
Ultimately, bringing Martinelli back into a more prominent role could prove beneficial for Arsenal.
The Brazilian has already demonstrated his ability to perform at a high level, and there is still plenty of potential for him to make an important contribution.
Arsenal supporters will be hoping to see Martinelli return to his best form and become a decisive figure in the club’s pursuit of major trophies.
