JUST IN: Arsenal now ready to make move for £215,000-a-week man after he rejects Newcastle
Arsenal are now ready to make a move to sign Dusan Vlahovic after he ignored interest from Newcastle.
WHAT’S THE STORY?
Well, it was Corriere dello Sport in Italy who made the bold claim, as they add that Chelsea are also ready to bid for the £215,000-a-week man.
Manchester United are described as “the third wheel” by the Italian news outlet, with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also paying close attention to the situation.
It comes after Calcio Mercato News claimed that Juventus are looking to sell their No.9 in 2023 amid issues in the boardroom at the Allianz Stadium.
The entire board have resigned after an Italian record loss of £220m – as per the BBC.
Vlahovic has scored seven goals – while also providing two assists – in 15 appearances so far this season, and is by far the most valuable asset Juventus possess.
Arsenal are seemingly in the market for a new striker after Gabriel Jesus underwent surgery to repair a knee injury, which he suffered while on World Cup duty with Brazil.
ARSENAL HOPES BOOSTED AS NEWCASTLE IGNORED
As mentioned above, Vlahovic has ignored interest from Newcastle and Eddie Howe.
It was Calcio Mercato Web who claimed that the Serbia international would prefer a different move, amid talk of the Magpies preparing an offer.
With Arsenal currently sat five points clear at the top of the Premier League, they represent a very attractive destination for the 22-year-old striker, so if the Gunners really are about to make a move, we feel they have a strong chance.
Vlahovic also has a good chance of playing regularly under Mikel Arteta, as Jesus is set to spend three months on the sidelines after his operation.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Arsenal also prepare a second bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
