Arsenal are ready to bid for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, and could even trump the likes of PSG in the race for his signature.
That’s according to reports from Italy anyway, where Calciomercato claims that the Gunners are looking into the possibility of signing Skriniar.
The Slovakian defender is yet to agree new terms with Inter. Within the report, it claims Skriniar is a ‘hot name’ for Arsenal as they look at potential new signings in January. Further, it’s suggested the Gunners are even ahead of French giants PSG in the race.
As it stands, the Gunners are known to be in the market for a midfielder and a winger. However, Mikel Arteta makes no secret of his desire to keep the squad fresh and showing improvement. Skriniar, then, could well be a fine option for the Spanish coach to consider.
Of course, Skriniar’s name is well known to fans of English football. The likes of Tottenham and Chelsea have tried to sign him in the past, with Chelsea contacting his agents very recently.
Labelled as a ‘monumental‘ defender after impressing against Liverpool, Skriniar has long been seen as one of the top defenders in Europe. Arsenal, then, seem to be positioning themselves for a move.

Talk about improving your squad when it’s already on fire. If Arsenal sign Milan Skriniar, then it gives them so much strength in depth. In fact, it would be hard not to argue they’re going the way of Man City with their squad building efforts.
Skriniar is a class act and encompasses all that is good about a modern centre-half. He’s quick on the ground, decent with the ball and crucially, strong in the tackle with a love for defending.
If Arsenal pull this one off, then the title could well be in closer sight then it ever has been.
