‘He’s brilliant’: Ben Foster wowed by ‘genius’ Arsenal star, says he is now worth £60-70m
Ben Foster has lauded Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard by saying that he is now worth £60-£70 million since joining Arsenal for £30 million (Sky Sports) in 2021.
Odegaard is earning rave reviews, left, right and centre and rightly so.
So far this season, the Arsenal captain has been nothing short of splendid.
With 7 goals and 5 assists to his name in the Premier League, the silky No.10 is spearheading the Gunners’ title charge.
While Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard was a revelation even last season, his newfound habit of getting goals and assists has taken his game to another level.
Against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Norwegian skipper stepped up when needed once again, firing in his side’s second goal of the night.
In the previous encounter against West Ham United as well, the 24-year-old ran the show from start to finish.
There isn’t a long list of attacking midfielders operating at a higher level in Europe than the ex-Real Madrid phenomenon currently.
Ben Foster was extremely complimentary of the in-form Arsenal talisman Martin Odegaard, before saying he is now a £60-£70 million player.
“We said it on the Football Fill-In a couple of weeks ago that he’s [Martin Odegaard] a genius, mate! He’s a genius.”
“He’s one of them who’s got to be worth now £60, £70 million, easy! Absolutely easy. He’s brilliant”, Foster said on his YouTube channel.
FOSTER MAY BE UNINTENTIONALLY UNDERSELLING THE ARSENAL TALISMAN
Clearly, Ben Foster is a huge admirer of Martin Odegaard.
However, to say the technician may be worth just £60-£70 million could be underselling him.
Arsenal ace Odegaard is one of the most in-form midfielders in Europe for the best team in England at just 24 years of age.
If the Gunners were to take the daft decision of selling Martin Odegaard anytime soon, we’d assume they demand a fee closer to £100 million.
