‘JUST LIKE DE BRUYNE’: Arsenal reportedly desperate to sign ‘exceptional’ £25m talent likened to De Bruyne

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt in recent days.

BILD, via Bulinews, recently reported that the Gunners want to sign the 26-year-old ‘at all costs’.

It has also been reported that Brandt’s price tag would only be in the region of £25million.

The reported Arsenal target’s contract at Dortmund expires at the end of next season.

As well as the Gunners, North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are apparently in pursuit too.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside that Brandt has ‘always been tracked’ by Arsenal.

However, he is ‘not aware’ of any fresh contact over a potential summer move.

Likewise, Dortmund have not decided on his future yet, added Romano.

Brandt would be a solid addition to the Arsenal ranks next season.

He is an outstanding player in the prime of his career, with an impressive CV.

Brandt is closing in on 400 competitive club appearances, and has also won 39 caps for Germany.

He has also won several trophies including the German Cup and the German Super Cup.

This season, Brandt has registered an impressive eight goals and four assists from 23 Bundesliga outings.

A versatile player, he has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder, or as a winger on either flank

Fans on Twitter have compared Brandt’s style of play to Kevin De Bruyne and Marco Reus.

In addition, the Bundesliga website has spoken of how the ‘exceptional‘ Dortmund ace has the X-factor

‘While football is undoubtedly a team game, goals win matches and those that can score or create them are in high demand,’ they wrote.

‘Brandt is a case in point, his willingness to take risks and try the unexpected in the final third often unlocking the most stubborn of defences.’

All in all, he seems to tick a lot of boxes for Mikel Arteta.
