‘I told Him about Man City but He turned me down for Arsenal’: Jack Grealish CONFIRMED another England international wants to join Arteta side Arsenal in the summer
Arsenal have been heavily linked with West Ham United’s Declan Rice in recent months.
The Independent has now issued an update on the links between the Gunners and the Hammers star.
And they make for good reading for the Arsenal faithful.
The newspaper says there have already been back-channel overtures and personal terms are seen as easy to sort.
Indeed, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly already planning for the 2023-24 campaign with Rice in mind.
Meanwhile, the England international seems to be eager to link up with the Gunners.
The Independent says Rice has raved about Arsenal while watching them with the rest of the West Ham squad.
However, the real difficulty will lie in the East Londoners’ stance towards their star asset.
West Ham reportedly want £100million for Rice, and at this moment in time, aren’t interested in talks.
With Arsenal taking on the Hammers on Sunday, there are two major things at stake for the Gunners.
Not only would three points put them closer to the title, but also deal a blow to Rice’s club in terms of their relegation battle
The possibility of Rice staying at West Ham hasn’t been discounted, and surviving relegation would strengthen the club’s hand further.
OUR VIEW
Rice is a world-class player and, by the sounds of it, seems eager to join Arsenal.
He’d be a game-changing signing for the Gunners, who are keen to continue on their upward trajectory.
However, dealing with West Ham will not be easy, and we could well see this saga go on for much of the summer.
