‘He is the only one I want from the Arsenal squad’: Pep Guardiola revealed the Arsenal star player that will be joining Man City in the summer
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola personally wants to sign Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
PEP GUARDIOLA WANTS ARSENAL LEFT-BACK KIERAN TIERNEY AT MANCHESTER CITY
Football Transfers have reported that City boss Guardiola wanted to sign Tierney from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Barcelona boss spoke to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Scotland international left-back in the middle of the season.
The Gunners did not sell Tierney.
However, Guardiola remains keen on the former Celtic star, according to Football Transfers, who have added that defending Premier League champions City will make a bid for him in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal manager Arteta wants the 25-year-old to stay, but the Spaniard would not stand in the way of the left-back if he wanted to leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
OUR VERDICT: SUMMER TRANSFER COULD HAPPEN
In our view, Kieran Tierney could leave Arsenal for Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The Scottish star is not getting regular playing time at Arsenal at the moment, and the chance to work with Guardiola and feature in a team that regularly compete for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League could be too good to turn down for him.
If Arsenal get a good transfer fee, then we believe that the Gunners will cash in on Tierney.
