Spanish outlet AS had reported on Friday that the Spanish midfielder looked ‘close’ to sign for Mikel Arteta’s side in the summer.
As Arsenal are looking ahead of the summer transfer window, Martin Zubimendi has revealed whether he plans to stay or leave the club.

The 24-year-old has a release clause worth £52 million in his contract, which would perhaps make him a relatively affordable player in the current market.
The Real Sociedad anchor is often compared to Sergio Busquets and is considered as one of the most highly-rated No.6’s in European football.
As Arsenal perhaps look to provide a better competitor than Jorginho for Thomas Partey’s starting spot in Martin Zubimendi, he has disclosed whether he aims to leave as part of a summer transfer.
“I have never planned to leave Real Sociedad, I always say that. I love life here, at home, I’m so happy here. The value of this club are same as mine so I feel very good, I always said that I’m happy”, he said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Our View: Mission Declan Rice should be the transfer plan
While Martin Zubimendi may have ruled out a transfer to Arsenal, the club can still target Declan Rice, who looks likely to leave West Ham.
In addition, the England international, whilst perhaps demanding a much higher fee can provide terrific cover in two positions
Not only is Rice a brilliant defensive midfielder but perhaps his game could reach its peak if he is fielded in a more advanced role.
The Hammers captain’s incredible ball-carrying ability, increasing threat in the final third and impressive duel-winning capabilities make him as complete a midfielder as the Gunners could sign currently.
Martin Zubimendi’s decision to stay at Real Sociedad will not come as a blow to Mikel Arteta’s side if Declan Rice comes through the door.
