Finally second signing: £60M highly rated star finally penned 5-year Arsenal deal – Romano Confirmed – Done deal
Fabrizio Romano reports that a few months after reaching a verbal agreement on a new contract with Arsenal, Bukayo Saka has now formally signed his long-term deal to stay at the club.
Romano adds that an official announcement of the deal is now expected very soon.
The Arsenal Informer report that Saka and Ian Wright were both present at the Emirates Stadium on Monday for the filming of a special media shoot, seemingly relating to the winger’s new contract.
As per other sources, some promotional footage for the contract had already been shot, and once again, the Arsenal Informer claim an announcement is now imminent.
Earlier this year, Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail broke the news that Saka had verbally agreed a new deal with Arsenal.
The new contract is set to see him earning almost £15m a season when including bonuses and other payments
The same outlet claims the deal will be worth a minimum of £10m a year, meaning his weekly wage will end up somewhere between £192k and £288k.
At the time, Fabrizio Romano added that the deal would be a five-year contract, tying the winger down to 2028.
Saka has been one of Arsenal’s Players of the Season in 2022/23, and he’s a regular fixture in all of the Premier League Teams of the Year going around at the moment.
The 21-year-old has 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, and you’d imagine this is just the start for his Arsenal career.
After signing a new contract, the next step will be his first foray into Champions League football next season.
