‘I’m so happy’: Declan Rice issues 4-word response as he’s delighted with news coming out of Arsenal today
Declan Rice has reacted to his England teammate Bukayo Saka signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal, as the club announced on Tuesday.
The West Ham United midfielder told Bukayo Saka on his Instagram that his new long-term contract is ‘fully deserved’ – it was announced on the club’s official website, with Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar adding that the all-action forward has developed into ‘one of the best young players’.
The 21-year-old, who began his career at his boyhood club when he was just eight, now continues that journey which could lead to the Premier League title and many more trophy-winning days.
The Gunners missed out during this campaign to the all-dominant and treble-chasing Manchester City side.
But, in the long term, the hope is that players like Saka can push Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal over the line and end their near-20-year wait to become champions of England again.
Over the course of the season, Saka has scored 13 goals and supplied 11 assists, which is some going for a player that is still 21 and still developing his game.
Either way, when the deal for Saka’s new contract was announced. He reacted on IG, with Declan Rice issuing the following response in the comments section: “Congrats brother. Fully deserved.” Added with a heart and clapping emoji.
RICE TO JOIN SAKA AT ARSENAL?
That’s what Arsenal fans are hoping as they look to further boost their midfield after missing out on the Premier League title.
The transfer rumour mill suggests there is a big chance that happens – the north London club have seemingly made a £70 million bid for the West Ham captain
There is also talk that Granit Xhaka could leave, even with the former captain on board, Arsenal probably need to enhance their midfield, so even more might be needed if he does indeed return to Germany in the summer.
