After Trossard: Reported Arsenal target’s agent in London for club talks, he’s ‘one of the biggest prospects’ in Europe

Arsenal have been linked with Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda in recent weeks.

Tuttojuve recently claimed that the Gunners are ‘ahead of everyone’ in the race for the 18-year-old full-back.

Arsenal ‘could offer €20million’ (£17.5million) in a bid to beat the likes of Juventus and Borussia Dortmund to Fresneda’s signature, said the report.

Fabrizio Romano subsequently confirmed that Edu and Mikel Arteta’s club is indeed in the race for Fresneda.

However, he stressed that the race was still open, with Arsenal also up against Newcastle United.

Now, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Fresneda’s agent has been to London for talks with clubs.

He said the Spaniard is “one to watch” regarding a potential January move to the Emirates Stadium.

“Away from attacking players, Arsenal are potentially in the mix for a right-back as well,” Jacobs wrote on CaughtOffside.

“Ivan Fresneda will be one to watch. There’s a variety of clubs tracking him at the moment.

“And his agent has been in London speaking to various Premier League clubs, so we’ll see how that one develops.

“It won’t just be a scramble for a Mudryk alternative, they’re looking at other areas to strengthen.

Fresneda a great shout for Arsenal

Arsenal seem to be closing in on the signing of Leandro Trossard.

This would tick the attacking reinforcement off the Gunners’ January wish-list.

Although right-back isn’t a priority position for Arsenal, Arteta could find himself down one player come deadline day.

Cedric Soares seems to be looking to leave the Gunners, with Fulham reportedly in pursuit.

With that in mind, bringing in a talented teenage right-back makes perfect sense.

Fresneda could replace Soares at Arsenal, and his arrival would give Ben White more leeway to play at centre-back.

He would learn from the likes of White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, both superb at right-back.

And if he hits the ground running, he could even stake a claim for a regular starting spot.

Fresneda is a great talent. Spanish outlet AS has deemed him ‘one of the biggest prospects in European football’.

Definitely the kind of player Arsenal should look to sign for the present and the future.
