Agent clarifies why he was in London amid Arsenal interested in £53M Star player – negotiation ongoing
The Portuguese media claimed that a representative from the player’s agency had recently been in London to discuss Bamba’s potential transfer to the North London team.
However, when questioned, the player’s agent, Filipe Macedo Alves, denied that the purpose of his trip to London was to negotiate Bamba’s move to Arsenal.
He stated that Bamba is a player with a high profile and is being tracked by multiple clubs, but at the moment, he is focused on playing for Vitória Guimarães.
“It’s true that I was in London, but I am just arriving from Germany, where I was watching Tapsoba’s game. Bamba is not the only player I work with,” Alves said.
“He’s a player profile that is clearly of interest to many clubs, but today he is a Vitória player and is only focused on Monday’s game in Chaves. The market is open, but I’m not going to feed rumours.”
While Alves did not confirm or deny Arsenal’s interest in Bamba, he did not deny the possibility of a transfer in the future. The newspaper Jornal de Notícias also reported on Thursday that Arsenal is at the forefront of an imminent transfer for the young player this month. The cost of Bamba’s transfer has not been disclosed, but it is known that he has a €30m release clause.
The 20-year-old defender has been in impressive form this season, showcasing his versatility by playing both as a defensive midfielder and a central defender. His performances have caught the attention of many clubs and it will be interesting to see where his future lies. Bamba’s agent has stated that the player is currently focused on his game and will not be feeding into any transfer rumors. The transfer window is open and only time will tell if Bamba will be making a move to a new team.
