Arsenal closing in on First January signing after sending scout to watch the 22yr old Midfielder during the weekend
Fluminese midfielder seems to be a man in-demand at the moment and Arsenal could find themselves in the mix to sign him.
Andre has been linked with a move to England for some time now, with Liverpool apparently the team tracking him closer than anyone.
However, after starring for Fluminese in their Copa Liberatores win this weekend, it seems like a number of other teams, including Arsenal, are keen on Andre.
According to Globo, Arsenal were one of the teams to send scouts to South America this weekend to watch Andre in person.
Of course, the Brazilian midfielder starred as he helped his team to their first ever win in the competition.
Andre is believed to have an asking price of around £25m and there seems to be an acceptance from the Brazilian side that a transfer for their star man is inevitable.
Arsenal send scouts to watch Andre Trindade
Arsenal are having a few issues this season despite starting the campaign in decent enough form.
One of the problems they do seem to have is in midfield. Thomas Partey has been injured again and experienced midfielder Jorginho is not quite delivering the performances many expected.
Likewise, Kai Havertz is struggling to make an impression on the Arsenal XI, whether that be in a deeper midfield role or played further forward.
A player like Andre, then, would be ideal for Arsenal in the January window. It could be a crucial window as well for the Gunners, depending if they’re in the title race or not come the winter months.
The ‘special‘ Andre has proven himself with Fluminese and we’ve seen with a number of South American players in recent seasons that they can indeed cut it in the Premier League.
Of course, there is going to be a fight to land Andre. Liverpool seem to have put plenty of groundwork into the signing and the Reds will be hard to beat if they do make their move concrete.
