Having finally got the verdict from his FA charge, Mikel Arteta will be hoping he can focus on the football again. Brighton could not be a better opponent for him to do that against.

“It was a tough day to be fair,” he said when recalling last season’s loss at the Emirates Stadium which essentially put Arsenal’s title hopes to bed. “To lose at home the way we did with the last goals we conceded was painful. It was like the dream was almost over, not mathematically, but a big part of it. I recall it being a really tough day.”

As if the motivation of revenge wasn’t enough though, the Spaniard will be desperate to stay within touching distance of Premier League leaders Liverpool ahead of their clash at Anfield next weekend.
