The 21-year-old’s current deal runs until 2024, though both Mikel Arteta and the forward have discussed their intentions of continuing discussions.

Emmanuel Petit verdict on Kante

Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has given his verdict on Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, having been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer next summer. Discussing the Frenchman’s absence from the national team for the World Cup, he told 90Min: “I’m worried that we miss Pogba and Kanté in midfield. In modern football most of the time games are won in midfield. Both Pogba and Kanté were extraordinary when they won the World Cup four years ago.”
