Rob Holding and Calum Chambers do not play for Arsenal anymore, but it seems that the two defenders still have a bond from their time together at the Emirates Stadium.

Calum Chambers was on the books of Arsenal from 2014 until 2022 when he moved to Aston Villa.

Rob Holding and Calum Chambers were at Arsenal
Chambers had loan spells at Middlesbrough and Fulham during his time at Arsenal and was not a regular in the starting lineup.

Rob Holding moved to Arsenal in 2016 and switched to London and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer of 2023.

Like Chambers, Holding was a squad player at Arsenal and did not get too many chances to feature in the starting lineup.

Holding has had injury problems at Palace and was linked with Bournemouth in the January transfer window, while Chambers is a squad player at Villa under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

The defender had not played any Premier League football since April of last year until he turned out against Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

Rob Holding sends message to Calum Chambers
When Pau Torres had to be taken off due to injury, Villa manager Emery, who is aiming to get the club to the UEFA Champions League, decided to bring on the 29-year-old, who can play as a centre-back or as a right-back.

As you can see below, Chambers has sent a defiant message on Instagram, and his former Arsenal teammate Holding has responded it to.

According to BirminghamLive, Villa manager Emery told Chambers that he was free to leave in the summer of 2023 and in the January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion and Hull City wanted to sign the defender, but he decided to stay at Villa Park and fight for his place in the team.

Chambers has made 177 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored seven goals, given five assists and kept 33 clean sheets in those games.
