Arsenal in pole position to sign ‘phenomenal’ €30 million midfielder – player has finally agreed to join Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus in the January transfer window.
That’s according to a report from Corriere dello Sport (print edition January 25th, page 17), who claim that Arsenal are in pole position to acquire the 24-year-old’s signature this month.
It is suggested that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has the best chance out of anyone to prise him away from Juventus over the course of the next week.
Juve are demanding just €30 million for McKennie – a very reasonable price in the current market. So maybe the United States international could be Emirates bound…

It seems as though the north London club are in the box seat to win the race for the Juventus star’s signature. And I believe he will be a great addition to Arteta’s ranks, especially for just €30 million.
The American is an incredibly industrious, hard-working and energetic central midfielder.
He was absolutely brilliant for the United States during the World Cup out in Qatar, and clearly has all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
Brad Friedel recently labelled McKennie as a ‘phenomenal’ player. He has everything that Arteta usually looks for in a player, and I believe that he would fit in at Arsenal like a glove.
Whether the Gunners go all out for Weston McKennie between now and the end of the January transfer window remains to be seen though.
