Arsenal make complete U-turn over player who wants £200,000 per week – Not Declan Rice
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have reportedly decided to end their pursuit of Chelsea target Moises Caicedo.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea are in pole position to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window after Arsenal “withdrew their interest” in the Ecuador international.
This seems to be a complete U-turn from Arsenal regarding Caicedo, described as a “fantastic” player by former Liverpool star John Barnes.
Earlier this month, London World reported that Arsenal were preparing to make a bid for the young midfielder.
However, it appears that the Gunners have decided to just end their pursuit of the youngster.
Football Transfers reported this week that Caicedo wants to join Chelsea, who are willing to match his salary demands of £200,000 per week.
No regret for Arsenal regarding Moises Caicedo
In our view, Arsenal should not look back with regret at Moises Caicedo potentially joining Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Paying a 21-year-old £200,000 per week is a huge gamble.
And, let’s face it, Caicedo has been doing well in the Premier League for only a few months.
It is not as if the Ecuador international midfielder has been playing at the very top level for two or three seasons.
