Arsenal reportedly want to sign £33m forward who ‘has everything’, he’d be Arteta’s final jigsaw piece

Arsenal have enjoyed a superb transfer window, bolstering several key areas in the squad.

The Gunners needed a world-class No. 9 and they duly brought in their top attacking target in Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal also signed a top midfield prospect in Fabio Vieira, goalkeeping cover in Matt Turner, and a great attacking talent in Marquinhos

Now, the Gunners are set to announce Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Not only will he provide competition for Kieran Tierney but he can also play in midfield.

Now, Arsenal could well wrap up their summer business by signing a winger and another midfielder.

One player reportedly on Mikel Arteta’s radar can play at No. 10 and across the front line, effectively making him the final piece in the Arsenal jigsaw.

That player is Cody Gakpo, who has been linked with the Gunners for much of the summer.

On Thursday, football.london reiterated that Arsenal are hoping to bring the PSV Eindhoven star to the Emirates Stadium.

Gakpo enjoyed a sensational campaign last time out, registering 21 goals and 15 assists in 47 club appearances.

This suggests the 23-year-old – who reportedly has a £33million price tag – is ready for a step up.

Gakpo also has seven Netherlands caps and two Oranje goals to his name.

“He is going to be an important player”

Former Netherlands midfielder Theo Janssen recently praised the young forward.

He told Dutch publication NOS: “That boy has everything.

“Fine feeling for the ball, a good through ball, dribbles and is strong between the lines.

“I really enjoy him. He is going to be an important player for the Oranje squad.

“He is ready to be in the base of the Oranje squad. I would definitely draft him.

“There are other options, but they are not as effective as him.”

Gakpo primarily plays on the left wing, but can also feature on the right flank, at centre-forward, and at No. 10.

A report from Soccerlink in the Netherlands claims that Arsenal’s scouts were reminded of club legend Thierry Henry when they watched Gakpo against Ajax in last season’s cup final.

He ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal, and so the Gunners really ought to make a move.

After all, Leeds United are reportedly in pursuit of Gakpo too – so Arsenal shouldn’t waste any time.
