Arteta looking to bring in player his ‘agents’ recommend
Alejandro “Alex” Grimaldo is reportedly being negotiated for by Arsenal and Benfica this summer, and the Gunners have already submitted a proposal to buy him.
The team of Mikel Arteta is searching for a left-sided defender in this transfer window. In that position, the Ajax star Lisandro Martinez is supposedly the top target, although it appears that Manchester United are the favourites to sign him right now.
Kieran Tierney needs protection, thus Arsenal needs to hire someone. Nuno Tavares is a terrific young talent, but the Gunners want to loan him out next season to help him grow because his inexperience showed in the second half of the last year.
That makes a new left-back this summer an obvious need.
Alejandro Grimaldo has received a bid from Arsenal.
According to the source, Grimaldo, who has less than a year left on his contract, and Arsenal have begun contract negotiations.
Because of his contractual status, he will be available for a low price, and Arsenal has made the initial move with a bid of only £6 million, which is less than one-fourth of what the Gunners paid for Kieran Tierney three years ago.
