Arsenal assistant manager Steve Round has left the club, reports former Football London journalist Charles Watts.
The Englishman joined the North London club in 2019 alongside manager Mikel Arteta and has been a key member of the backroom staff.
Round is leaving Arsenal by mutual agreement and the decision has been announced to the staff.
The club are expected to appoint a replacement or Arteta could decide to promote one of the other assistants to his role.
Round played a crucial role as Arsenal won the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2020 and came close to winning the Premier League last term.
The 52-year-old started his coaching career in 1996 as an assistant at Derby County after just six years as a professional footballer.
Round has since worked as an assistant head coach at Middlesbrough, England, Newcastle United, Everton, Manchester United and Derby County.
He was the director of football at Aston Villa while they were in the Championship for two years before joining Arteta at Arsenal.
Round is moving on and could be off to join another club as the first-team head coach.
While they do not get a lot of credit for their work, assistant managers play a huge role behind the scene.
Arteta and Round were successful together, and the Gunners boss will need to bring in the perfect replacement if Arsenal are to move to the next level.
The Spaniard will be making his Champions League debut as a manager next term and hope to impress.
He will also look to mount a stronger challenge for the Premier League title next term, and he needs a quality assistant to get the job done.
