‘Better than David Beckham’: Agbonlahor says £70k-a-week Arsenal ace is already better than Man United legend David Beckham
Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is already a better player than David Beckham.
The £70,000-a-week [Sport Rac] wideman is having an incredible season for Arsenal, registering 12 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League alone.
But Gabby Agbonlahor has gone as far as to say that Bukayo Saka is already a better winger than David Beckham.
WHAT AGBONLAHOR SAID ABOUT SAKA VS BECKHAM
The Hale End wonderkid has arguably been the best player in the league this campaign after Manchester City’s Erling Haaland for Mikel Arteta’s league leaders.
The 21-year-old is widely viewed as the most in-form right-winger in world football currently and one of the best young players in Europe.
However, Gabby Agbonlahor has gone as far as to say that Bukayo Saka is better than Manchester United legend David Beckham.
“I’d pick Saka over Beckham if I could pick an England team. I said it during the World Cup, I would have Saka over Beckham”, he said on talkSPORT.
“When I saw Saka at the World Cup, he was outstanding. In the Euros just gone as well, he was outstanding. Kept [Phil] Foden out of the team. If I’m picking my best England team, I’m having Saka on that right-hand side. Pace, scores goals, more of an all-round game. Can take players on, score goals, get assists as well. I’m picking Saka.”
Our VIEW: TOO EARLY TO MAKE SUCH CLAIMS
Not a single soul should or perhaps would dispute that Saka is one hell of a player and is destined for greatness.
But David Beckham remains one of England’s greatest ever wingers and for Gabby Agbonlahor to claim that Bukayo Saka is already superior of him is over the top.
Can Saka become a better player than Beckham? One day.
Has he already surpassed the retired great? Certainly not.
