Better than Raphinha: Arsenal eyeing Raphinha transfer alternative after Chelsea and Barcelona bid
Arsenal have made a busy start to their summer. Mikel Arteta has already spent roughly £85million, bringing in four new players to bolster his squad heading into the upcoming season.
Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus have all been confirmed, but the deals look unlikely to stop there. A number of players have been linked with a move to the Emirates this season as the window and pre-season heats up.
With that said, football.london takes a look at the latest transfer rumours surrounding the Gunners.
Raphinha alternative eyed
Arsenal are eyeing an alternative to Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer. It comes after the Gunners made several bids for the Brazilian that were turned down before rivals Chelsea struck an agreement.
That means another player is being monitored for a move in the forward positions, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The journalist teasingly told the Que Golazo Pod : “I have an indication but I can’t speak yet because I have to check, and I want to make sure I’m mentioning the right name.”
Youri Tielemans bid
Arsenal are preparing a £30million bid for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to the Sun. The Belgian has previously been linked with a move, with only one-year remaining on his deal at the King Power Stadium.
Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo is being monitored by Arsenal, says Record via Sports Witness. The Gunners have been linked with a number of defenders as Arteta looks to add to his back line.
The Portuguese side are said to be willing to listen to offers worth roughly £7million.
