‘BEWARE OF HIM TODAY’: Brendan Rodgers gushes over one Arsenal PLAYER

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has raved about Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney on the club’s official website.

Rodgers has said that Arsenal and Scotland international left-back Tierney is “outstanding”.

The Leicester boss made the comments about the 25-year-old ahead of the Premier League game between the Foxes and the Gunners at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The former Liverpool boss has noted that despite being so good, Tierney is on the bench at Arsenal these days due to the form of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Arsenal defender Tierney played under Rodgers at Celtic.

Rodgers said: “They signed the two players who are game-changers for them in terms of mentality.

“When you have got the likes of Kieran Tierney on the bench, who is an outstanding player, and because of Zinchenko playing, it shows you the quality of the squad that they have.”

STRUGGLING AT THE GUNNERS

Now, we know that Kieran Tierney is a very good defender who has done well for Arsenal when he has played.

However, the former Celtic star has had injury problems during his time at the Emirates Stadium.

And Zinchenko offers Arsenal something different and more intricate.

The Ukraine international is able to move from left-back to midfield.

Tierney is unable to do that.

The Scotsman is more of a ‘traditional’ left-back.

Tierney has made four starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League and has scored one goal in six UEFA Europa League games.
