BREAKING: Arsenal confirmed the signing of 23yr Young promising left winger after long negotiations between the both parties today, agreement signed and sealed till 2030 as player will arrive by early January
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read, according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf.
The north London side have enjoyed an impressive start to their campaign. They currently sit six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City and continue to show balance across all areas of the pitch.
Arteta seeks more depth at right-back
Manager Mikel Arteta is believed to be exploring options to strengthen his defence. Ben White has struggled with both fitness and form since the beginning of the current season, and part of the previous one as well.
The Spanish tactician wants an extra option to provide more depth at right-back.
Jurrien Timber has been solid for Arsenal in the early stages of the season. However, with the club competing across several competitions, Arteta is keen to reduce the Dutchman’s workload by adding proper cover in that position.
Read’s rapid rise at Feyenoord
At only 19 years old, Givairo Read has already earned a regular place in Feyenoord’s first team. The Dutch champions signed him for their academy in 2023 before promoting him to the senior squad later that year. His consistent displays have made him one of the standout young defenders in the Eredivisie.
This season, he has already made 13 appearances for Robin van Persie’s side, contributing one goal and three assists as Feyenoord lead the Eredivisie.
Arsenal are not alone in their pursuit of the talented full-back. Man City and Bayern Munich are also closely monitoring his progress, with scouts frequently attending his matches.
According to Transfermarkt, the young defender is currently valued at around €20 million.
Read is known for his energy and attacking approach down the right flank. He combines strong offensive runs and accurate crosses with disciplined defensive work.
His ability to play as an inverted full-back allows him to move inside and support build-up play, while still maintaining solid defensive awareness.
Arteta sees these qualities as fitting perfectly into Arsenal’s system, making Read one of the emerging names to watch in the coming transfer windows.
