Arsenal will push on with their pursuit for premier league star Youri Tielemans in January and at the same time, cool their interest in Brazilian midfielder Danilo.
Both midfielders are thought to feature on the list of potential new signings for Arsenal. Tielemans has been on the radar for some time and Danilo is thought to be another to emerge as part of the Gunners’ extensive scouting of South America.
However, while both players remain of interest, 90Min is reporting today how Arsenal are prepared to drop their January interest in Danilo and instead go all out for Tielemans.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is known to be keen on adding new faces in January. A winger and central midfielder are widely accepted as the two main positions the Spaniard wants to bolster.
Lauded for being an ‘incredible‘ midfielder, Tielemans ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal. The Gunners believe a bid in the region of £20m could do the trick with Tielemans, who is out of contract in the summer as well.
Our View: Tielemans over Danilo makes sense for Arsenal
This makes perfect sense for the Gunners as it stands now. Signing Tielemans over Danilo in January is the ideal move, just for the fact the Belgian doesn’t need time to bed into the Premier League.
Tielemans has been superb for the Foxes over a number of seasons now. He brings quality and composure to the middle of the park and having scored a winner in the FA Cup final, he knows how to perform when it matters.
