Jacob Ramsey joined from Premier League rivals Aston Villa for £39million in the summer but picked up an ankle injury on his full debut.
After making his debut as a second-half substitute during the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool, Ramsey started the next game away to Leeds United but was forced off at half-time after being caught in a tackle with former Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

The 24-year-old hasn’t played since. He has already missed matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barcelona, AFC Bournemouth and Bradford City, and isn’t expected to be back for the next three games versus Arsenal, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Nottingham Forest.
The hope is Ramsey will be available for the first game after the international break, which is Brighton & Hove Albion away on Saturday, October 18.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash at home to Arsenal, Howe said: “Yeah, I think his recovery is going really well. He’s on the grass, working hard, building his fitness back up. The plan, I think, was it would be the first game after the international break that’s ahead of us.
“If it’s any earlier than that, then of course he’s ahead of schedule.”

Ramsey could return to the matchday at the same time as fellow new signing Yoane Wissa.
Wissa joined Newcastle on transfer deadline day for £55m from Brentford but is yet to make his debut after sustaining a knee injury on international duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The 29-year-old’s absence has increased the workload on £69million club-record signing Nick Woltemade, who Howe says needs time to adapt from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
