BREAKING: Man United are now ‘very close’ to securing the signature of “exceptional” star player after agreement has been reached- player is preparing to FLY to London in coming hours to sign paperworks

Manchester United could land Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani for a major discount this summer.

Einstracht Frankfurt are willing to accept a reduced fee for striker Randal Kolo Muani, compared to their previous demands, reports The Mail.

Their latest report claims the German side would be willing to accept £50-60 million as a basic payment this summer. There may be additional add-ons along with that.

In a report as recently as just three weeks ago, The Mail had described Muani as a £105 million striker, based on the Bundesliga club’s exorbitant valuation of Muani.

However, it appears a more sensible view has now been taken. Eintracht Frankfurt acquired Muani on a free from Nantes last summer.

Kolo Muani price

Manchester United view Kolo Muani as a viable transfer target. The MEN had reported that the Red Devils were paying close attention to him.

The Athletic also reported that United director John Murtough had been in touch with Eintracht Frankfurt to express interest.

French newspaper L’Equipe had reported Manchester United’s interest in Muani back in early January.

The forward has gone onto enjoy a strong season, scoring 23 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt and also providing another 10 assists.

He also scored for France in the World Cup semi-final against Morocco.

Another recent report from ESPN had claimed Frankfurt would look for around £80 million for Muani.

This latest report is the first claim he could be available for a reasonable transfer fee this summer, with £50-60 million more representative of his ability, value and potential.

The 24-year-old only has one top calibre season under his belt, and anything over £60 million would be too much. You could even make the case that is excessive.

United have to managed this summer’s budget cautiously. A deal for Mason Mount appears imminent, while Rasmus Hojlund is another striker alternative, and Harry Kane the dream option.

There is also a desire to secure a top goalkeeper, with an upgrade required on David de Gea.
