Manchester United appear to be in complete control of Sofyan Amrabat’s transfer situation despite interest from Saudi Arabia for the midfielder’s services.

Al-Ahli, who have already signed the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Robert Firmino, are pressing to secure the signing of the Morocco international.

However, as per Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the 26-year-old has given priority to a move to Manchester United, having already reached an agreement over personal terms with the English club.

It is added Amrabat, who currently takes home £30k a week in Florence, was offered a higher salary from the Middle East club this summer.

La Viola are open to selling their prized asset for a fee in the region of £26m, with his £1.5m a year contract scheduled to expire next summer.

Further, they’ve already signed Arthur from Juventus, who is versatile enough to cover multiple areas in the middle of the park.

United appear to be in the driving seat here. For now, though, the Red Devils remain in talks with Fiorentina to strike an agreement on the transfer fee.

It is added that Amrabat is the first name on Erik ten Hag’s list. The Dutch coach has been looking to strengthen his midfield depth and his desire to add a new midfielder might’ve intensified following Kobbie Mainoo’s ankle injury.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder is expected to be ruled out for the first part of the forthcoming season.
