BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal next Five premier league fixtures compared to Man city and Chelsea after Yesterday Everton win – as Mikel Arteta faces tough opposition side comparebto City and Chelsea in the title race
Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a narrow win away at Everton on Saturday evening. Manchester City had gone above the Gunners with a win over West Ham United earlier in the day, but a Viktor Gyokeres penalty saw Mikel Arteta’s side claim all three points.
The Toffees started well but Arsenal soon took control and their opener arrived midway through the first half as Jake O’Brien was penalised for a handball with Gyokeres firing in the resulting spot-kick.
Arsenal controlled much of the second 45 and should have doubled their advantage when Leandro Trossard was played through by Declan Rice, but his effort struck the post. Moments later, Martin Zubimendi hit the upright with a fizzing effort from distance.
Despite those missed chances, Arsenal held on to claim a vital three points after three consecutive away league games where they have dropped points.
