Arsenal’s search in the transfer market for a potential striker option has seen them linked with a move for ex-Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
It comes as the Gunners look to deal with their lack of centre-forwards, as Gabriel Jesus’ ACL injury absence is only heightened further by Kai Havertz’s hamstring tear that will keep the duo out for the rest of the season and beyond.
It leaves Mikel Arteta without a natural striker, though the manager has hinted that Arsenal could look into the free-agent market for solutions.

Arsenal have been linked with Roberto Firmino as a possible option for the remainder of the campaign, along with Brazilian outfit Flamengo.
The striker, who won the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool, has been facing something of an uncertain future in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ahli announced that Firmino would be omitted from the squad for the rest of the season, casting doubt over his place at the club.
Talk over a potential contract termination has been touted, leading to links over a possible free agent switch.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano – via GiveMeSport – Firmino looks set to stay at Al-Ahli for the coming months.
The transfer expert said: “He’s still not leaving Al Ahli now, as the Saudi club insists to continue until the summer as they can use him in the Asian Champions League. Let’s see what happens if they change their stance.”
It certainly puts a dampener on the possibility of Firmino walking out at the Emirates Stadium to solve the injury crisis the team currently faces.

With Firmino seeming unlikely to become a free agent any time soon, Arsenal may have to look at other options available as a free transfer.
