Arsenal will be looking to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, it’s football’s worst kept secret that Arsenal want to sign a new striker, and they are looking at a few options.
Benjamin Sesko has been linked to Arsenal, while Ollie Watkins is on Arsenal’s radar at the moment too.
Speaking on The Dressing Room Podcast, Wayne Bridge has now made a more left-field suggestion around which striker Arsenal could sign.
Indeed, Bridge has, remarkably, tipped Harry Kane for a move to Arsenal, claiming that this could be the perfect move for the England captain.
Wayne Bridge tips Harry Kane to join Arsenal
Bridge spoke about the £86m man, claiming that a move to Arsenal could be perfect for him.
Kane has a release clause at Bayern Munich that comes into effect at some point, and Bridge reckons a move to Arsenal could appeal to the striker.
“For Kane, I’d love to see him, go out and win a load and then be at Arsenal next year. I keep saying this, if he wants to come back, Arsenal is perfect for him
“No, he’ll never go to Arsenal,” Bridge’s co-host said.
“Do you not reckon? I can see it happening mate, I tell you. Everyone who supports Spurs hates me saying this, but I keep saying it. If he was going to come back he’d be offered a good deal there.”
What Harry Kane said about leaving Bayern Munich
Of course, Kane heading to Arsenal is a preposterous suggestion due to the fact Kane is a Tottenham legend.
However, we have been here before as Sol Campbell swapped Tottenham for Arsenal back in 2001.
Before there’s any talk of Arsenal being Kane’s landing spot though, someone needs to convince the striker to leave Bayern Munich, and, by the sounds of it, he’s in no rush to leave Germany.
Indeed, speaking to ESPN earlier this month, Kane made it clear he’s happy where he is.
“I’m not sure. I’ve said throughout my career I don’t like to think too far ahead. I’m happy here, we have a fantastic team, fantastic coaching staff. I feel like while I’m in the best condition I want to play at the highest level possible, and this is as high as it gets.
“My focus is here and I’m not thinking about any other league or any other team. I go with the flow and at the moment the flow is with Bayern Munich.
“A few random stories have been out there for sure, I don’t know where they have come from.”
It’s often said whenever a crazy suggestion is made that stranger things have happened in football, but it’s genuinely difficult to recall a more bizarre potential move than Kane going to Arsenal.
Who knows? Perhaps this could be one to keep a bit of an eye on.
