BREAKING NEWS: In my entire career,I have never been humiliated like the way this boy with no UCL title Humiliated me yesterday,I tried to calm the situation but He was so stubborn,I wonder what Arteta is teaching them”, Dani Carvajal finally reveals what happened between Him and Bukayo Saka that led to the outburst in the tunnel last night
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was involved in an altercation with Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal at half-time of Wednesday night’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg.
Saka was busy in the first-half at the Santiago Bernabeu as the Gunners looked to progress to the semi-final of the competition for the first time since 2009.
The England international saw his spot-kick saved by Thibaut Courtois inside the first 10 minutes in Madrid after Raul Asencio was penalised for bringing Mikel Merino inside the penalty area
Madrid then had their own penalty drama when referee François Letexier awarded the hosts a spot-kick for a foul on Kylian Mbappe from Declan Rice. However, VAR overturned the decision after a five-minute delay.
The first-half ended 0-0 with Arsenal 3-0 up on aggregate and as both sets of players made their way to the changing rooms, Saka was confronted by Carvajal, who was out of the squad due to injury
As Saka approached the tunnel, Carvajal seemed to whisper something in the ear of Saka, which resulted in the Gunners star sharing a laugh. However, the Spain international then went in for more, prompting Saka to pull his hand away.
Carvajal then walked towards Saka and put his hand around the back of his neck. The Arsenal winger then pushed Carvajal whilst appearing to say something to the 33-year-old, who was then confronted by substitute Ben White.
Saka then made his way down the tunnel and Carvajal walked away. Neither player were punished for the incident.
