BREAKING NEWS: My problem with this English clubs is that they make signing anyhow because they have money without considering who approached the player first, there’s no way I will allow Him join Man United, not under my watch will that happen”, Ath Madrid coach Diego Simeone angered by Man United decision to trigger the release clause of £96m playmaker

Manchester United’s pursuit of an emerging Brazilian midfielder looks set to end in a whimper.

The Red Devils invested heavily in attack over the summer, and also reinforced their goalkeeping position, but the engine room remains a cause for concern.

INEOS have adopted a smart approach in the transfer market of late, focussing as much on rising talents as in established stars, and their strategy has already paid dividends.

A recent report relayed by The Peoples Person states that Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon has emerged on their radar of late.

United’s midfield conundrum
Ruben Amorim has mostly deployed Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro as a double pivot in midfield this season. While the duo have been quite effective of late, they are already on the wrong side of 30, so succession plans have to be put in place.

Moreover, Kobbie Mainoo, who has struggled for opportunities this season, remains heavily linked with an exit from the Theatre of Dreams in January. Meanwhile, Manuel Ugarte has hardly inspired confidence in his handful of appearances this campaign.

Bidon, on the other hand, has already established himself at Corinthians this season and has appeared 47 times in all competitions.

The 20 year old has all the attributes to be Casemiro’s long-term successor at the Theatre of Dreams and has also flourished in a more advanced role this season.

Bidon’s style of play makes him a fine fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactics, but the Red Devils are now in danger of missing out on the young midfielder.

Atletico Madrid inching closer to Bidon
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, Atletico Madrid have stepped up their pursuit of Bidon and have offered €18 million for the player.

Los Rojiblancos have already been in touch with their Brazilian counterparts to discuss a deal. The player’s entourage have received their proposal and are planning to present it to Corinthians soon.

The youngster is under contract until 2029, with the South American club owning 90% of his rights. They have reportedly set a €20 million price tag on Bidon, so Atletico’s offer is very close to their valuation.

Corinthians are in financial distress, so they are likely to sanction to the Brazilian midfielder’s departure. United have been monitoring Bidon of late, but are yet to follow up their interest with a concrete offer.

Unless the Premier League giants act soon, they could miss out on the player.
