‘Breathtaking’ player could now leave Arsenal on loan if Edu completes Mudryk signing this month
According to Football London, Arsenal could send young Marquinhos out on loan if they complete the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk this month.
It is no secret at this point that Mudryk is Mikel Arteta’s priority transfer target. Reports have revealed that the Gunners have bid for him twice already and are pushing to sign him in this month’s transfer window.
The Ukrainian’s arrival could open the door for one of Arsenal’s current wingers – Marquinhos – to leave and get some experience under his belt.
Marquinhos could go out on loan if Arsenal sign Mykhaylo Mudryk
Arsenal signed young Marquinhos from Sao Paulo last summer for £3 million (Goal).
The talented Brazilian has the potential to be a star one day, but as of this moment, he is only a squad player. The teenager has played just five times in all competitions, and even though he has caught the eye on a couple of occasions, he isn’t quite ready to be a regular in the Premier League.
Marquinhos will go further down the pecking order if Arsenal sign a new winger in this month’s transfer window. That means he will barely play a game for the Gunners in the second half of the campaign.
That makes a loan move away from the Emirates a very smart option, and the report reveals that will likely be the case if Edu manages to complete Mudryk’s signing in the coming days.
Marquinhos, a left-footed right-winger, was hailed as ‘breathtaking’ after his brilliant start to life for Arsenal U21s. He has scored four goals and provided two assists in just five starts for them, while he has a goal and an assist to his name for the Gunners’ senior side so far.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Marquinhos. We can’t see a Premier League side coming in for him this early in his career, but a move to Spain or Italy is very possible, and playing regularly wherever he ends up would really benefit him.
