Confirmed – Agent in Carrington as Man United ready to break the bank to sign £80m generational talent who has 15 goals and 14assist last season – Erik Ten Hag is a big fan of Him
Manchester United have reportedly made ‘some contact’ for Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt after failing to make any tangible progress in their bid to sign Harry Kane or Rasmus Hojlund.
Tottenham Hotspur are reluctant to hold talks with any English club for their superstar – who was seen as Erik ten Hag’s primary target heading into the summer transfer window. The Red Devils ended their interest in the England international early in June and instead set their sights on Rasmus Hojlund.
The Denmark international, 20, is keen to move to Old Trafford and has even reportedly found an agreement over personal terms with United. But the Premier League have not been able to meet Atalanta’s £68m valuation as yet.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, over the last 10 days, United have considered the idea of signing Kolo Muani.
The Italian journalist exclusively told GIVEMESPORT:
“For Kolo Muani, the price tag Is around €100m (£85m). It’s true that Manchester United had some contact in the last two weeks to explore the conditions of the story, but Eintracht want €100m and also, they still hope to keep the player for one more season and sell him in summer 2024.”
At £85million, the France international is going to cost a lot more than Hojlund but he would arrive with a lot more experience under his belt and a proven record to lead his side’s frontline. Considering the dearth of goal-scorers at United, a first-choice striker is a must for Ten Hag.
The 24-year-old has made close to 150 appearances for FC Nantes and Eintracht and his impressive cameo appearance in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina showed he’s not afraid of the big stage.
Further, 15 goals and 14 assists across 32 Bundesliga appearances last term underline his ability to act as both a goalscorer and creator in the final third.
