Confirmed done deal, documents signed, paperwork done.. waiting for January to announce signing’: Fabrizio Romano reveals Arsenal first signing that will be announced in January

Arsenal are in a really strong position to now go on and win the Premier League title.

They’re top of the league by a nice margin now, and if they keep their foot on the gas they could well be champions come the end of the season.

Of course, as with any season, the January transfer window will have a big part to play in terms of shaping how the second-half of this campaign goes, and with their eyes on the prize, Arsenal may need to do something ambitious.

Speaking on Kick, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Arsenal’s transfer plans, and he says that if Arsenal do indeed decide to go out and make a big signing it will be Douglas Luiz.

Luiz would be Arsenal’s big signing
Romano shared what he knows about Arsenal’s plans.

“My feeling is that if Arsenal try to do something very big it will be for Douglas Luiz, but it will be more than tough because Aston Villa don’t want to sell the player. Arsenal love Douglas Luiz, but Aston Villa, we have to consider Aston Villa as a top club, they are doing fantastic, we have to respect their project,” Romano said.

Can Arsenal sign Douglas Luiz?
If Arsenal are to make a big signing in January it may well be Douglas Luiz, but the question is whether or not Arsenal are able to make such a transfer happen

After spending over £200m in the summer, FFP restrictions are tight at the Emirates right now – that’s why they had to sign David Raya on an intial loan, and with Luiz likely to cost a pretty penny from Aston Villa, this deal will be tough.

However, as we all know, the big clubs in the Premier League always seem to be able to find some cash from somewhere, so perhaps this deal will be doable after all.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we get closer to the transfer window opening on January 1st.
