CONFIRMED: Man united edge closer in securing £60m signing, documents approved, paperwork done – announcement imminent
Man Utd are now edging closer to sealing the signing of Jarrad Brandthwaite, who could be lured for a reasonable fee of £65million.
The Old Trafford club have already agreed personal terms with the central defender but the previously reported asking fee of £80million has been a concern.
As per the latest update provided by FT, Branthwaite is now edging near to securing a move to Man Utd.
The news source have mentioned that the deal could be completed before the end of the current month.
It is stated that the talks between the Red Devils and the Toffees have advanced and the Merseysiders are willing to listen to offers of around £50m-£60m.
However, with the additions of certain objectives and add-ons, the Goodison Park club want an overall package of worth £65million.
Back in 2020, Everton only paid a fee of £1million to sign Branthwaite from Carlisle. So, they are set to gain a huge profit from his sale.
The youngster impressed on loan for Dutch Eredivisie giants, PSV Eindhoven, in the 2022-23 campaign and proved to be a huge hit in the Premier League last season.
Man Utd are close to getting a talented central defender in the form of Branthwaite, who would likely be the one to replace Raphael Varane at the club.
Ratcliffe needs to strengthen the backline on immediate basis and signing the English starlet would be a step in the right direction.
