CONFIRMED: Player have given transfer greenlight to Man united to join, salary structure being discussed Pending the official announcement – Here we go soon

Man United are now working towards the signing of Manuel Ugarte, with a positive feeling a deal can be done.

Manchester United are yet to make a signing during this transfer window, though it does look like the Old Trafford club are moving forwards on several possible additions.

Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee appear to be atop the wishlist, while the Red Devils would also like to bring in a midfielder of some description.

Manuel Ugarte‘s name has been linked with filling that void, though all did go a little quiet on that front – until yesterday.

Sport1 journalist Christopher Michel has provided the latest on Ugarte, claiming that United are now ‘pushing’ for the signing of the Paris Saint-Germain player. The Old Trafford club are ‘optimistic’ an agreement can be reached.

PSG want around £51m (60m euro) for the man from Uruguay, whereas United are looking to pay closer to £35.5m (42m euro). There is a feeling the clubs could meet in the middle at around the £43m mark.

Ugarte played 37 games across all competitions last season, during his debut campaign in Ligue 1. Now, the French side could look to move on from the midfielder after just twelve months at the club.

United do not have a pressing need to sign a defensive midfielder for as long as Casemiro remains at the club, though the Brazilian’s future is far from secure as things stand.
