“Congratulations to Arsenal… Because with such player they have already won the League this season”: Former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp congratulates Arsenal for agreeing deal to sign the striker who has ‘everything’
Arsenal are still in the market for a striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been scouring the market for a new centre-forward for 12 months now, but, their search hasn’t been successful so far.
Now, Arsenal are apparently revisiting an old transfer target.
A few years ago, Arsenal were linked with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and now, Arsenal are again keen on the Everton striker.
Calvert-Lewin hasn’t been in the best of form over the past few years, but, at his best, he’s one of the Premier League’s top attackers.
Don’t just take our word for it though, Jurgen Klopp has previously been full of praise for Calvert-Lewin, claiming that he is a striker who has everything.
Jurgen Klopp’s past praise for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Klopp has previously spoken incredibly highly of Calvert-Lewin.
“Calvert-Lewin, I really expected him to make big steps in the next few years and he did,” Klopp said.
“He has everything you need in a top striker: size, mobility, speed, desire, technically really, really good, in the air, finishing with his head, both feet.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has it all
Jurgen Klopp’s comments on Calvert-Lewin came at a time when the Everton striker was in great form, but make no mistake about it, the former Liverpool boss isn’t wrong.
Calvert-Lewin doesn’t always show it, but this is a striker who has it all.
He’s tall, he’s strong, he’s fast, he can finish with both feet and he’s great in the air.
Two things have stopped Calvert-Lewin from hitting the heights – confidence and injuries.
Under Mikel Arteta, Calvert-Lewin could rediscover his confidence, while less of a key role could allow him to also avoid injury and manage his body better.
If Calvert-Lewin can rediscover his best form, he could be an inspired addition to this Arsenal squad.
