DEAL CLOSE: Arsenal set to complete the signing of £50m world class Midfielder who scored 9goals and 9assist last season, personal terms agreed already

Arsenal are one of the admirers of Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

However, it is Brighton & Hove Albion that have emerged as the leading contenders for his services at the moment.

The Seagulls have opened talks with the Foxes to sign the 25-year-old, and Leicester want around £30 million to sanction Dewsbury-Hall’s departure.

Arsenal are not in talks to sign the Englishman this month despite being keen on bolstering their options in the middle of the park.

Financial Fair Play (FFP) constraints have limited their chances of doing any major business during the January transfer window and they are expected to resume their spending spree in the summer.

The Gunners could make a concrete move for Dewsbury-Hall at the end of the season, provided he does not join another club this month.

Brentford and Fulham are also keen on the Leicester star who has bagged nine goals and nine assists in 27 Championship appearances this term.

Arsenal could do with such a midfielder with a keen eye for goals – he scored two goals and claimed two assists in 31 Premier League games last term – but their chances of landing him appear slim as he could be willing to remain with the Foxes if they secure instant promotion back to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leicester are top of the Championship table after 28 games, with seven points separating them from their closest rivals, and they are favourites to finish top of the pile.

A move to Arsenal could still be tempting to Dewsbury-Hall as a chance to play in the Champions League could lure the Leicester-born midfielder to Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners will keep monitoring the situation and hope no club signs him this month.
